The Great Apostasy is setting in.....

What can Christians learn about Jesus from other faiths?

This is a main part of the 'menu' for a day conference scheduled for Thursday, 25 September, 2008 entitled 'Jesus and Other Faiths'.

The conference has been organised and ru by the Churches Agency for Interfaith Relations (CAIR) in Scotland, and appears on the web site of Action for Churches Together in Scotland (ACTS).

The pre-conference publicity asks:

"What can we learn from reflecting on Jesus as a rabbi, prophet, guru and brother of the Buddha?"

The answer to that question of course is "Nothing at all". We know all that we need to know about Jesus from the Bible; and there is no other source to which we should turn.
Jesus was, is and ever will be the Son of God and God in human form. Full stop: exclamation mark.

But if we do ask these other faiths the question we will get entirely wrong answers; and it could be worthwhile to reflect on what these answers might be.
  • Judaism - Jesus Christ is not the Jews' Messiah
  • Islam - God has no son. Jesus is a lesser prophet to Mohammed - and was never crucified
  • Hinduism - There are a multitude of gods; and life is a continuous cycle of birth, death and reincarnation. Karma determines one's fate - not Jesus.
  • Buddism - There is no God, so there is no Son of God. Buddhism is a philosophy not a religion
All these faiths would acknowledge that a man called Jesus lived. To do otherwise would totally discredit them. However the best that they would say is that he was a lesser prophet and a good and kind teacher.

So save yourself the £20 cost of the conference, and avoid the travel and exposure to false teaching.

The Whore of Babylon

Whore of Babylon

One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, "Come, I will show you the punishment of the great prostitute, who sits on many waters.
With her the kings of the earth committed adultery and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries."
Then the angel carried me away in the Spirit into a desert. There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns.
The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries.
This title was written on her forehead: MYSTERY BABYLON THE GREAT THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.  Rev. 17:1-5

Come out of her my people

For all the nations have drunk the maddening wine of her adulteries. The kings of the earth committed adultery with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries."

Then I heard another voice from heaven say: "Come out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues; for her sins are piled up to heaven, and God has remembered her crimes." Rev. 18:3-5

The time has most surely come for Bible-believing Christ-centred born-again Christians to consider and pray about whether to remain part of any local church that supports ACTS or CAIR,  the above event or any others like it.

Also Christians who have a pastoral concern for others in the churches might consider bringing this conference and these developments to their attention.

The title 'Christians Together' from which this website takes its name, was specifically chosen (over 10 years ago) in preference to 'Churches Together' .

If you have any comments or questions relating to the above you can either -
