Facebook lines itself up with Biblical prophecies

In a world which is being increasingly driven and shaped by social networking and internet-based multi-media an international campaign has been launched on Facebook which falls into line with the prophesied purposes of God.

Psalm 83:2-8 (ANIV)
See how your enemies are astir, how your foes rear their heads.
With cunning they conspire against your people; they plot against those you cherish.
"Come," they say, "let us destroy them as a nation, that the name of Israel be remembered no more."
With one mind they plot together; they form an alliance against you—
the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, of Moab and the Hagrites,
Gebal, Ammon and Amalek, Philistia, with the people of Tyre.
Even Assyria has joined them to lend strength to the descendants of Lot.

Facebook call to 3rd Intifada

Facebook terrorThe Internet is heating up over Facebook's refusal to block a fan page calling for a Third Intifada against Israel.

An email campaign to pressure the popular social networking site into removing the page has been mounted by pro-Israel groups as well as private individuals. All have expressed increasing concern over the potential danger to Israeli citizens that may result from the page, which clearly promotes violence against Jews in Israel.

One woman was killed and a second person is still in critical condition, with 50 others wounded after terrorists planted a bomb filled with ball bearings and sharp objects next to a busy bus stop last Wednesday across from the Central Bus Station in Jerusalem. The attack came the week after the heinous murder of 5 members of the Fogel family, and during a week in which long-range Grad Katyusha missiles were fired from Gaza at Ashdod, Ashkelon, Be'er Sheva, Yavneh and just south of Rishon LeTzion. Numerous other short-range Kassam rockets exploded in Jewish communities throughout the western Negev, as Gaza terrorists continue to escalate their attacks on southern Israel.

Meanwhile, rock attacks on the roads of Judea and Samaria appear to be on a corresponding rise as well, leading to speculation over whether a third intifada may indeed be on the way.

Abraham H. Foxman, National Director of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), slammed the site for its willingness to support a page that promotes violence against Jews and its unwillingness to comply with its own terms of service.

Although the page is written almost entirely in Arabic, a display ad in big English letters posted on the page warns, “If Facebook Blocked This Page... All Muslims Will Boycott Facebook For Ever!”

The page had attracted hundreds of thousands of  “Likes” from readers.

Foxman said his organization had reached out to Facebook with a request to have the page taken down, but “to no avail” – despite the fact that the page is in clear violation of the site's terms of service which set down policy in Section 3:
  •  #6 states: "You will not bully, intimidate, or harass any user;"
  • #7 states: "You will not post content that: is hateful, threatening, or pornographic; incites violence; or contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence;" and
  • #10 states: "You will not use Facebook to do anything unlawful, misleading, malicious, or discriminatory.

The page, 'Third Palestinian Intifada', urges its readers to copy the link, place it in their profiles and publish it on all pictures, videos and pages – everywhere they can. An alert announces that a march to “Palestine” will begin from neighboring countries on May 15 and soon after, “Palestine will be liberated and we will be freed. Our goal now is to reach millions of subscribers on this page before May.”

The page also includes inflammatory language that calls for supporters to build on the previous two murderous previous intifadas in which Arab terrorists murdered and wounded thousands of Israeli civilians. The second intifada is also called the Oslo War as it took place after the Oslo peace accords were signed by PLO leader Yasser Arafat and Israeli Prime Minister Yitschak Rabin. The notice refers readers to related content on other sites such as Twitter and YouTube.

“This Facebook page constitutes an appalling abuse of technology to promote terrorist violence,” said Foxman.

“We should not be so naïve to believe that a campaign for a 'Third Intifada' does not portend renewed violence, especially in the current climate that has seen a dramatic increase in rocket attacks from Gaza, the brutal murder of the Fogel family in the West Bank, and a terrorist bombing in Jerusalem.”

Last week, Yuli Edelstein, Israel's Minister of Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs also sent a letter to Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO and one of its founders over the issue. He wrote him that the site has "great potential to rally the masses around good causes, and we are all thankful for that. However, such potential comes hand in hand with the ability to cause great harm, such as in the case of the wild incitement displayed" on the Third Palestinian Intifada page.

A petition urging Facebook to remove the dozens of pages promoting hatred of Israel and incitement to kill Jews -- incuding the page calling for a Third Intifada -- has been started on the Internet by the Jerusalem-based Aish HaTorah Yeshiva. The petition calls on Facebook to "remove any pages that promote hate against Israel and the Jewish people."

Meanwhile an 'antidote' page has been placed on Facebook as another means of exerting pressure on the Facebook management to remove the offending page.

"I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem.
On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves."
Zechariah 12:2-3 (ANIV)

"In those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem,
I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will enter into judgment against them concerning my inheritance, my people Israel, for they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land."
Joel 3:1-2 (ANIV)

Funny how quickly they removed the page of the 14 year old girl who said she was going to burn copies of the koran.

I suspect that, since there is so much turmoil in the Middle East / North Africa right now that, it is a sort of "carpe diem" moment for the terrorists.

Some of them are probably thinking, right, lets rise up like they did in the other countries.

Which I suspect the Israelis will be prepared for....

Could get messy.
Martin Lisemore 28/03/2011 22:37
You bet the Israelis are prepared.

But I doubt we are.

When they say watch this space, it could soon mean watch this radio active space.

The only question remaining is - which bit of space!

Over to you.

Dear friends of ECI,

As a matter of principle we rarely forward e-mails from other sources to our send list. This is an exception since we find this matter of such a great urgency.
By joining forces we can have a real influence in the battle against Israel, which is currently going on over the internet. Together as ECI we can make a difference in alerting Facebook about the hate campaign calling for a 3rd intifada against Israel. Please read the text below, pass on to your friends and take action.
Best regards,
Tomas Sandell

Friends:
This is something that everyone can and must do. A Facebook page was created calling for a 3rd Intifada against Israel. It is mostly in Arabic. The creators of this page are calling for the Arab world to attack and take over Israel. The number of people clicking on the "Like" button is increasing every hour (today they have 335,000 "likes", and it keeps increasing).
We must ask Facebook to take action and remove this page – see directions below.
It's not important whether your personal politics are pro-Israel, anti-Israel, or just plain neutral. INCITING VIOLENCE AGAINST ANY RACIAL, ETHNIC, RELIGIOUS OR NATIONAL GROUP IS JUST PLAIN WRONG!!

THIS MONTH ALONE, 5 ISRAELI CIVILIANS INCLUDING A 3-MONTH OLD BABY WERE MURDERED WHILE SLEEPING IN THEIR HOME, A BOMB WAS DETONATED BESIDE A BUS IN JERUSALEM KILLING ONE PERSON AND INJURING 30 MORE. AS WELL, ISRAEL INTERCEPTED A SHIP CARRYING 50 TONS OF HIGH TECH WEAPONS WITH SOPHISTICATED MISSILES HEADED FOR GAZA. THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT KIDDING AROUND AND FOR THEM TO USE FACEBOOK OR ANY OTHER MEANS TO CALL FOR MORE KILLING IS OBSCENE.

Directions:
JUST click on the link below to reach the Facebook page. Then scroll down the left side of the page where you will see "Report Page" in tiny print. Click on ‘report page’ and choose "Contains hate speech" (you can then choose a further option of ‘targets a race or ethnicity’). Then click ‘submit’. Thank you very much for helping.

Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer! To unsubscribe from facebook allows the enemy to continue their propaganda without our knowledge. The tool here is intercession (pray). We war not against flesh & blood but against the powers & principalities of this age. This offence is not against us but against the Lord, God most High! Cry out to Him in your indignation and ask Him to release the Heavenly Hosts on behalf of His promised ones & then watch & pray. God's word cannot be overcome by any other power; there is none like Him. Remind yourself of His promisses towards His chosen ones and remind yourself that His Word will be the last one. Bless Israel by seeking their blessing that is promised in Christ and let God be God the only one able to judge and deliver justice for His own name sake! DO NOT FEAR!

Agree. Keep Alert.
Pawlo 30/03/2011 17:21
Respectfully disagree, I personally don't want to belong to a media group that continually allows this kind of anti-Semitism and anti-Christian content, Facebook are afraid of challenging these people and end up bowing to Islamic pressure. They could easily remove these pages as they do with other offensive material but they don't. Also you don't need to get this kind of info off Facebook directly so to claim that they can continue this kind of propaganda without our knowledge isn't a valid reason to continue using an anti-Christian, anti-Semitic organisation.

Social media sites are fast turning into a power that is dangerous, unpredictable and uncontrollable, I think we will see evidence of this in the UK (and the West generally) before too long. This will be to the detriment of our Christian freedom and civil liberties.

Also I foresee a time where so-called Christians use these kinds of applications to follow new moves of the Spirit or the next new blessing, from one place to the next and because of the addiction and trust that people have when using these things, they'll be swept along and won't be able to discern truth from lie. There is a degree of this already happening, albeit small scale at the moment.

Martin Lisemore 30/03/2011 18:55
'so-called Christians use these kinds of applications to follow new moves of the Spirit or the next new blessing.'

Yes, in the last twenty years or so, some visible Christianity has become very much a side show of Barnum and Bailey. Kansas City Prophets et al, all rather sickening, and Facebook/Twitter is the perfect medium for adding additional hype to all this type of nonsense. Adding, of course, revenue to the side show organisers. So much religion is about bucks.

Cynical, perhaps, but I've seen a lot of it. Trouble is, in the last twenty years I've seen decreasing amounts of the real thing. Which is why some of the posters on this forum have my respect - not something given lightly.

I must confess, I still have a Facebook page, simply because events here kept me too busy to take it down.
Tim Frank (Guest) 31/03/2011 08:37
The 'Facebook or not' debate is surely one that is better left to individual Christians to decide (led by the Holy Spirit in their own personal circumstances).
It's the same dynamic as which cinema films one is comfortable to watch (or not).
Paul said regarding 'special days' - "let each man be fully convinced in his own mind." (Rom 14:5)
Certainly the advice by Eileen Wilkinson is very pertinent.
