An Inverness Church of Scotland is holding a church service for those who may have experienced sadness and loss; and for whom Christmas can be a difficult time.

All most welcome!

Blue ChristmasRev. Alistair Murray is the minister at Trinity Church of Scotland in Huntly Street Inverness and for the third time his church is running a service to support all those who may feel 'blue' at this time of year.

Commenting on the initiative Rev. Murray says:

"This is a service to offer help and support to those who find that Christmas is a difficult time. This may be the first Christmas when a loved one is not present through bereavement in the past year. It also could be that Christmas is a time when you cannot simply cope with the commercial approach that suggests it is to be enjoyed.

"The service gives space to mediate and reflect, through sharing the pain with others. It is hoped that through coming together at this time of year we can find support from each other. Anyone would be made welcome so do feel free to come along."

Following the service last year Christians Together and Thistle Channel TV caught up with Rev. Murray who spoke about reasons behind offering this service to the local community.
