Cromarty East Parish Church restoration

Nine churches, including Cromarty East Church in the Highlands, have received almost £1.5m in lottery funding.

Cromarty East church

The Cromarty church on the Black Isle - which closed in the 1990s - featured on the BBC programme Restoration Village.

The Church was once the parish church of Cromarty and parts of it probably date back to medieval times, though most of what is seen now was built in the eighteenth century. It is one of the most important churches of its type in Scotland and is listed Category A by Historic Scotland.
