New Oban bookshop for Lochaber Christians

Oban

Tony Walters sends the following information for the benefit of Christians in Lochaber who shop in Oban.

Heaven Scent - A new resource in Oban

It was a God given vision to Kathleen and John McArthur whilst prayer walking in Oban, which stimulated the creation of a Christian bookshop in the town.

The Lord showed Kathleen very clearly the many stores and shops in Oban and yet there was no store to purchase the Living Word of God. The decision to set up such an operation in an age when it is so easy to shop on line could not have been easy, but moving forward on God’s promise that - He will always lead us in Triumphal Procession (2 Cor. 2:14) Kathleen, John and their daughter Victoria opened the doors of ‘Heaven Scent’ book shop in June of this year.

The shop, which is based in the Dunollie Halls, Dunollie Road, (opposite Farm Foods) aims to bring the families of Oban a special message:-

JESUS IS ALIVE, HE IS THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY AND FOREVER. (Heb. 13:8)

This is achieved through a selection of Bibles, publications, greetings cards, DVD’s and music etc. It is the owner’s desire that everyone should have God’s word available to them so if anyone is without a bible then Heaven Scent will provide them with a copy. The shop is staffed on a volunteer basis which includes Mary, Colline and Janet.

In addition to the work in Oban John and Kathleen travel out to the Islands with God’s word as well as supporting the Oban hospice and Open Doors.

So if you are visiting Oban, call in and encourage the team there, you will receive a warm and friendly welcome.
