Bibleworld Studio

Alasdair Moodie of the Scotttish Bible Society's Inverness Local Action Group writes to let us know that work is underway for Bibleworld mobile classroom trailer to be sited at two Inverness schools during the month of November.

Inverness Royal Academy and Inverness High School (in conjunction with Trinity Church) will be arranging their programmes to allow groups of children to come to the Studios during the day. It is hoped that the Studios will also be open in the evenings, for adults and youth groups to examine, experience and participate in the programme that has been designed to bring people of all ages to a fuller understanding of the truths in the Holy Bible.

Alasdair says:

We know you will want to provide the kind of help that other congregations throughout Scotland give to ensure that the SBS Studios visit is a success. You can help in a number of ways -

There are three areas of need we want to bring to your attention:-
  • Please join us in bringing the travelling and accommodation arrangements, and the organising and running of the two weeks of programmes before God in prayer
  • Please will you seek someone with Disclosure Scotland clearance to volunteer for the required two helpers needed for each of the daily sessions, to support the two trained SBS staff.  The day sessions take place between  and   before lunch, and between    and  in the afternoon.
  • The Society is asking congregations and individuals to make donations to help with the specific cost of maintaining and running the SBS Studios outreach programme (about £2500 a week).
Designed to complement the Scottish Religious & Moral Education guidelines, Bibleworld SBS Studios is a treasure of a resource. With its cross-curricular programme and commitment to the Curriculum for Excellence now being pioneered in schools, it can be confidently offered to Primary and Secondary classes as an educational resource.

Together with Bibleworld Experience, the 'edutainment' resource based in Edinburgh, Bibleworld SBS Studios is providing children across Scotland with a chance to positively engage with the Bible in an age where this can't be taken for granted.
