Background information:

Tom Greig SCMMRev Tom Greig:
Originally from a building background Tom joined the Prison Service in his native Edinburgh. Half way through his twenty five years service he had an encounter with God that radically changed his life. After retiring early from the Prison Service to answer Gods call to ministery Tom spent three years at Moffat St, Mary’s United Free Church and three years with the Glasgow Medical Missionary Society.

Tom started a men’s breakfast meeting in Glasgow that led to the founding and formation of The Scottish Christian Men’s Ministry with meetings throughout Central Scotland and links to Mission Work in Uganda. He also is a member of the Praise Band MacJudah who have played in N. Ireland, Africa and Tenerife.

MacJudah:
McJudah bandThe band came together in 2001 through association at meetings of The Scottish Christian Men’s Ministry (SCMM) and has lead praise and worship at SCMM breakfast meetings and conference events. It was in 2004 that a link with World Shine Ministries (WSM) in Uganda open up. SCMM have put together mission teams to go over to Uganda and minister in evangelism, teaching and preaching, building schools and orphanages. On the first trip the experience of seeing firsthand the needs of a nation like Uganda is heart wrenching, to see the devastating effects of AIDS, poverty, poor medical facilities and overcrowded orphanages.
The SCMM have embarked on a programme of support for various projects in Uganda and at the turn of 2005 the band spent three weeks in Uganda ministering in many different areas.

The band were so moved by their experience, the warmth of the Ugandan people and the mission projects that SCMM are involved in that they produced a CD, the proceeds from which go towards the mission work in Africa.
Robin Muirhead: Plays acoustic guitar, lead vocals and fronts the band.
Scott Greig: Mostly on drums but plays all types of percussion.
John Morrison: Plays bass and lead guitar as well as providing harmonies.
Tom Greig: Provides mandolin whistle and flute accompliment.

The band come from a wide and varied background of musical appreciation but have settled on a celtic/folk/rock style which still allows for a wide diversity in the presentation. The vision for the band is simply to bring people of whatever age into an experience of God.  Every member of the group has a testimony of the saving grace of Christ and collectively can take Sunday services, preach, teach and minister the word of God.
