CLAN Gathering 2007
St. Andrews - Saturday 14 - Friday 20 July
The CLAN Gathering has become a regular event in the annual Scottish Christian calendar.
Kenny Borthwick is part of the leadership team for the CLAN Gathering. Kenny says:
I feel a real excitement about what God will do in our midst at CLAN Gathering 2007. Our theme is quite simply ‘The Cross.’ The teaching I heard John Paul Jackson give on Isaiah Chapter 53 was the catalyst that led to this being our theme. Never have I heard the cross of Jesus Christ presented in all its multi-faceted glory and victory, nor have I been given such clear vision that Jesus died to make possible, wholeness for even the most damaged or defeated or perverse of human kind.
We are so grateful to God that John Paul is able to be with us once again. I think the teaching that he will bring each morning will be more opposed by the powers of darkness than any teaching we have ever had at CLAN to date, because of the capacity of the cross truly grasped and understood to be the place of the breakthrough of the Kingdom of God for us, in us and through us. So don’t just come along, but please pray for that breakthrough!
We are delighted to be able to say that Dr. R. T Kendall will also be joining us bringing to bear upon our theme a wealth of biblical understanding which CLAN ‘gatherers’ have come to love and appreciate so much. At the time of the writing of this letter invitations have gone out to a host of other speakers and top class worship leaders, several of whom have not been at CLAN before, but whose names will be known to many of you. I anticipate many going home from CLAN 2007 with stories to share of what God has done, and faith for what He will do in our lives and in our land. We certainly need to see divine action to save both church and society from sinking in a bog of spiritual and moral confusion and compromise. It is time to raise the cross and to declare the crown rights of our Redeemer Jesus Christ over Scotland and indeed over all the earth.
