He holds a PhD degree in theology and is the author of King of Heaven, Lord of Earth, and All You Need is Christ, both Keswick study guides to Colossians and Galatians respectively. A keen sportsman, he hates gardening and has an unrepentant attachment to Everton Football Club!
David Carmichael is minister of Abbeygreen Church of Scotland in Lesmahagow, a village south of Glasgow, where he has exercised a productive ministry for the past 26 years. His wider ministry takes him to conferences around the United Kingdom and in the USA. He is a founder member of the Scottish Reformed Conference which he now serves to good effect as Chairman. He also serves as Chairman of the Scottish Council of UFM Worldwide and of a large reformed Ministers Fraternal. David has been married to Fiona, for thirty years and they have two grown-up daughters: Alison a music teacher and Suzanne who is a 4th year student of International Business at Strathclyde University. As a former teacher of Physical Education, David continues to be a keen sportsman with a particular enthusiasm, these days, for golf.

He is also the director of Affinity, an organisation that provides networking and support to churches. Born and brought up in Bournemouth, he was dramatically converted while a student in Bangor, on the north coast of Wales. Having received a Master's degree in political anthropology at the University of Birmingham, he undertook theological studies at Spurgeon's College, and subsequently spent three years teaching Religious Education.
