A Scottish evangelical Christian youth organisation has appointed a new member of staff to further the work throughout the country.

Liz Warren-CorneyCampaigners Scotland, the uniformed evangelical youth organisation, has appointed Liz Warren-Corney as Development Officer to raise awareness of Campaigners, and help develop and support new and existing centres based in churches throughout Scotland.  The part-time post is for an initial period of 2 years, focussing mainly on the south of Scotland.

Liz comes from a background of project management, having worked to widen access and uptake of learning for trade unions, latterly within the transport and travel trade industry.  She has also been involved in development and leadership of children's and youth work in churches south of the border.

Liz said: “Since coming to Scotland I have been waiting for an opportunity to use my skills developed in the secular world for Christian work.  I am very much looking forward to help take the Campaigner movement forward in Scotland over the next 2 years.”

In welcoming the appointment, Chairman of Campaigners Scotland, Rev Vince Jennings, said that in Liz they had found someone with "the enthusiasm and skills which fitted exactly the needs of the organisation at this time.  The Council are looking forward to working with her at this exciting stage of development."

iz is married to Theo Corney, minister of Thomas Coats Memorial Baptist Church in Paisley and they have an 8-month old son.  In her spare time Liz enjoys running 5K races and administers a small internet forum for people who play an on-line superhero game.
