 A Grain of Sand

Grain of Sand1

'A Grain of Sand' is a blog written by (Rev. Dr.) Campbell Campbell-Jack, a retired Church of Scotland minister. The blog sub-heading describes the author as "an insomniac Scots Calvinist [who] looks at the Church and the world and wonders where it all went wrong.

Editor's Footnotes:
1. Opinions expressed in the Grain of Sand articles are entirely those of that author and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Christians Together website.
2. While the above-mentioned sub-heading capitalises the word 'Church' the term in this context should be taken as meaning the wider Christian church(es) in the form of organised religious bodies. By way of distinction, the 'church' (the 'ekklesia') is the collective grouping of all Bible-believing followers of Jesus Christ. These disciples may or may not operate within structured and constituted entities.
3. The 'Grain of Sand' title derives from the fact that pearls are produced as a result of a grain of sand becoming lodged in the soft tissue inside the shell of an oyster. The oyster builds up a coating, called nacre, to cover over the offending grain.
