Petition against abortion on demand

FoetusAn online petition has just been posted this afternoon calling on the British Medical Association at its annual meeting next Wednesday to reject the recommendations of its Medical Ethics Committee, which is calling for abortion on demand in the first trimester, and to conduct a properly evidence-based review that involves full consultation with its members and all frontline doctors

Can I encourage you to sign it and to encourage others to do the same?

Lots more information on the background is on the following website

We here so much of human rights, what about the real human right, the unborn child?

Jesus loves everyone and died for all...

I listened to Skillets song 'Lucy' which is about a couple struggling with abortion. It made my eyes water. Abortion is nothing more than murder of innocent babies. After a baby is born, everyone is all nice and doctors are kind and 'loving' at the enterance of another life, but mere hours before they would barely think twice before killing this baby before it has time to see its mother. It is a horrible act of murder and I don't understand how doctors who do it can live with themselves. Have they blunted their consciences that much that they don't care about the reality of what they do, or are they just in denial? Abortion is WRONG and should be stopped.

"After a baby is born, everyone is all nice and doctors are kind and 'loving' at the entrance of another life, but mere hours before they would barely think twice before killing this baby before it has time to see it's mother".

I certainly agree with you that "abortion is wrong and should be stopped". But we ARE living in a fallen world which most believe is over populated, with limited resources, and that there is not enough food, land etc!
Maybe these doctors that murder unborn babies think they are doing a service for the world? The whole world lieth in wickedness 1 John 5.19 KJV.
I just cannot imagine how a woman can live with herself after having an abortion?
But of course there IS hope for such people in Jesus Christ who came to save sinners 1 Timothy 1.15 KJV. (Guest) 31/01/2014 18:01
The Christian Pro-Life lobby is one of the most despicable, immoral, evil pressure groups in the world today.

What exactly do you hope to achieve in the long run I wonder? To force by legislation every woman to carry every pregnancy?

You may choose to do this yourself but you should not be granted the right to try to force everybody else to live by your own personal moral code. Nor the code from the bible if you think that's what it is, no more than you should be able to enforce the passages in the bible which demand non-virginal wedded woman be stoned to death. Deuteronomy 22:21.

Humans are among the world's least threatened species. There are more than 8 billion people alive and there are already resource issues associated with the population explosion such as the human consumption of more than 90% of the fish stocks in the ocean in the last forty years. You are wrong in claiming people believe overpopulation is an issue because overpopulation IS an issue. Don't confuse facts with beliefs.

You grossly overestimate you own importance, the importance of individuals, and the importance of other humans in general.

The morbid preservation of human life and stupid sentimental preoccupation with human offspring is despicable.

The laws in the bible were written at a time when they may have made good sense, when where were far fewer people, when abortion was a far crueller process to the mother and when disease was rife and most children didn't survive.

The anti-abortion lobby is as out of date and unfitting for the modern world as the bible's demands that women who wear clothing made of more than three different cloths should be stoned to death.

There is absolutely no moral nor practical defence for the Christian argument against abortion and fighting against choice by trying to generalise stupid, wicked, unsafe, selfish, backward legislation is one of Christianity's greatest evils.

If you are religious then surely you believe that the matter is in God's hands and you needn't try to force it. So why don't you prove you all have faith in God and his plan by dropping this campaign and leaving it up to God?

And doesn't it say in the bible only God can judge others? Well then why not stop being so damn irreligious and stop judging people you very obviously are not fit to? By this measure, the measure of the bible itself, your own actions are sacrilegious because you're breaching the bible's code by interfering in God's plan.

It's your religion, your own book says you're the ones who'll burn in hell for this.

I find the tone/tenor/thrust of your posting quite nearly beyond my capacity to comprehend.
Many twist the Scriptures to their own destruction; 2 Peter 3.16 KJV.
As believers we must "judge righteous judgment" John 7.24 KJV. The Bible teaches us that "we shall judge angels" 1 Corinthians 6.3 KJV.
The modern world is full of people that will quote many Scriptures OUT OF CONTEXT, which were given to Old Testament Israel.
You say "The morbid preservation of human life.."! Do YOU not even value YOUR own life?
Abortion is murder, plain and simple Exodus 20.13 KJV.
You should thank God that your mother didn't have an abortion?
Did not God command our very first parents to "Be fruitful and multiply" Genesis 1.28 KJV?
Over population? If you were to consider the sheer vastness of the observable heavens, you might start to realise how big God is; the God "with whom we have to do" Hebrews 4.13 KJV?

I forgot to mention, that many secular scientists freely confess that there is more than enough food to go around the world many times over, it is just that in this fallen world we live in things don't function as they ought to. This will all change when Jesus Christ returns, Revelation 11.15 KJV.

Thank you for taking the trouble to respond.

As should be plain, the opposition you provide may convince you, but it doesn't convince me. Fortunately, there are enough people who it doesn't convince for there to by little fear it will travel far as a policy, I am happy to say.

You will also find that bible quotes have somewhat less influence on much of the population that quotes from that famous parody of religious belief, the Wizard of Oz.

There is no more reason to have faith in the bible than any other adequately researched fiction.

Thank you for your time.

"Vapourmilr" I pray that God in His grace will bring you out of the darkness of unbelief into the sunshine of His love made known in Jesus
