Highland evangelist for Inverness Gospel Tent Mission
Donald Buchanan

Following the launch evening which gave a foretaste to the Tent Mission planned for Inverness next month, it has been announced that Donald Buchanan - a well-known evangelist throughout the Highlands and Islands and beyond - is to be the guet evangelist/speaker at a series of evening events to be held at the Bught Park event.
Pastor Mervyn Milne, of Perth-based People With A Mission Ministries (PWAMM), who are organising the mission supported by Inverness churches, said, “Donald has a powerful story to tell of how Jesus Christ changed his life dramatically when his business got into difficulty with mounting debts. He swapped a life of no hope and debt for life as an international minister through faith in Jesus Christ. Donald is a colourful character and his talks are told with a Hebridean sincerity and a touch of humour, but with a serious message about how Jesus Christ still transforms lives for the better, setting people free.”
“You don’t have to be a Christian or a church-goer to attend: the entire programme is free of charge and everyone’s welcome.”
The outreach which is to be located in the city's Bught Park is due to run from Wednesday 13 - Sunday 17 June; and includes a full programme of events for children, families, the community, adults and senior citizens.
Free activities are planned for all ages - including a family fun day, a kid’s club, evening rallies and afternoon tea for senior citizens are on offer at the Gospel Tent Mission being held in Inverness from Wednesday 13 June - Sunday 17 June with the support of local churches.
The evening rallies start at 7.30pm and will include uplifting singing, first hand stories of lives turned around by faith in Jesus Christ and talks by Donald Buchanan, together with performances by PWAMM’s drama group, Burning Issues, and the Upper Room Choir.
A special kid’s club for primary aged children will be held in Inverness Leisure, Bught Park. It will run from Wednesday 13 June to Friday 15 June from 4.15pm to 5.30pm and on Saturday 16 June from 11am to 12.15pm, with fun, games competitions and stories, sprinkled with the gospel message.
A free ‘tea in the marquee’ afternoon tea event will also be held in the marquee on Friday 15 June at 2pm for senior citizens, whether living at home, in a nursing home or sheltered housing, and will take in songs, stories and drama, all washed down with tea, sandwiches and cakes.
The family fun day is to be held beside the marquee on Saturday 16June will give children the chance to let off steam on giant inflatables, sumo wrestling, gladiator duels and human table football while adults unwind over a burger and a coffee.

Bught Park is just off Glenurquhart Road to the left travelling out of Inverness towards Loch Ness
