Jason Maston joins staff at HTC

The Highland Theological College has welcomed a new member of staff. Jason Maston who comes originally from America has joined the HTC at its Dingwall base from a post in Aberdeen.


A Media Release from the Highland Theological College states:

Jason Maston HTCHighland Theological College UHI, Dingwall, is delighted to welcome to the staff team Dr Jason Maston.

Jason is from the USA and holds degrees of BA (Biblical Studies) from Southwest Baptist University, MA (theology) from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a PhD from the University of Durham.

He teaches New Testament at HTC and his research interests include the Dead Sea Scrolls, Jewish Wisdom literature and Paul's theology. He is also interested in the relation between the academy and the church, and particularly preaching. Before coming to Dingwall,

Jason was Student Worker at Hebron Evangelical Church in Aberdeen. ‘I have a deep commitment to the church, and I hope to instil in my students a passion for learning and thinking about theological and historical issues as a service to the people of God.’ Jason is married to Erin and they have two young children. He joins the HTC team following the departure of Dr Michael Bird, who has returned to his native Australia to teach theology in Queensland.
