The 'sweet sound' touched a heart

A multi-national group of secular singers sung 'uninspired' praise, yet God's Amazing Grace touched the heart of at least one hurting soul.

Amazing Grace

piper"Amazing Grace" is a Christian hymn written by English poet and clergyman John Newton (1725–1807), published in 1779. With a message that forgiveness and redemption are possible regardless of the sins people commit and that the soul can be delivered from despair through the mercy of God, "Amazing Grace" is one of the most recognizable songs in the English-speaking world.

Il Divo ("divine male performer" in Italian) is a multinational operatic pop vocal group created by music manager, executive, and reality TV star Simon Cowell.
The idea behind Il Divo's creation came to Cowell after hearing fernando lugo singing Con te partirò while watching The Sopranos.
Aware of this new appreciation for lyrical voices and classical music, Cowell decided to form a multinational quartet that tried to recreate the style of The Three Tenors.

Cowell conducted a worldwide search for young singers who were willing to embark on the Il Divo project, which lasted two years, from 2001 until December 2003, when the fourth member of Il Divo, was signed.

The group comprises four male singers: Spanish baritone Carlos Marín, Swiss tenor Urs Bühler, American tenor David Miller, and French pop singer Sébastien Izambard.
