How does the church view Israel?

International speaker Dr. Paul Wilkinson is currently doing a tour of Scotland speaking on the place of Israel and the Jewish people in the eyes and plans of God; and sharing some concerns on how the church is being influenced away from them.

As part of a current tour Dr. Paul Wilkinson is due to speak at a:

Meeting in Inverness on the Evening of Thursday, 14 March 2014.

In the course of his doctoral studies, Paul coined the term 'Christian Palestinianism' to describe some disturbing developments -– even within evangelical circles – which run counter to God's prophetic purposes for His Hebrew people and the land of Israel.

The meeting venue is in the Inverness area. Seating is limited and anyone wishing further information and/or to book a place at the meeting should contact:

Paul WilkinsonPaul Wilkinson BSc. BA. PhD is an author, writer, commentator and consultant who works and speaks internationally. He has studied at the International School of Holocaust Studies in Jerusalem. He is a graduate of York and Manchester universities and holds the position of Associate Pastor in a Stockport church: he appears regularly on television and radio programmes in the UK and the USA.  He coined the term 'Christian Palestinianism' in 2003 while engaged in doctoral studies: of it he writes:

"Christian Palestinianism is effectively an inverted mirror image of biblical Christian Zionism, whereby all the basic elements of a Christian Zionist understanding of Israel are reversed. Consequently, the Bible is seen to be fundamentally Christian rather than Jewish; the land of the Bible is referred to as ‘Palestine’ or ‘Israel-Palestine,’ rather than Israel; the re-establishment of the Jewish State in 1948 is considered to be an accident of history and a catastrophe for the Palestinian people, and not a miraculous fulfillment of Bible prophecy."

He is of the view:

"The theological roots of this largely political movement lie in the centuries-old heresy of Replacement Theology, which has been revived in recent times by a Palestinian form of Roman Catholic Liberation Theology."

The current Scottish Tour is being undertaken as a result of an invitation by Scottish grouping 'Yachad' whose focus is on fostering an understanding of God's word in the historic, contemporary and future senses.
Yachad works alongside – and seeks to support – many other national and international Christian organisations which have complementary aims and purposes regarding God's prophetic purposes for His ancient people.
